We are pleased to announce the return of our flagship event, the Kent & Sussex Bonspiel for the 2024/25 season. Our friends at Curling Club Zemst in Belgium have offered for us to host the event with them in Mechelen. This is a friendly and social bonspiel designed to bring our members together to support the SECC and celebrate the sport we love. We will be very happy to put “individual entries” together into a team, so please do come along and join us even if you don’t have your own team.
Every team will play a minimum of five 6 end games, but the top 3 teams in each group will play an extra 6 end playoff game.
The first draw will begin at 8am Belgian time on Saturday Oct 26th, while the last regular draw will finish between 4pm-5pm on Oct 27th, and then playoff games will begin at 5pm and finish before 7pm. Remember that travelling back to England from Belgium will see you get one hour back due to the change in time zone.
Also included in the fee is lunch on both days and a hot meal on the Saturday evening. Sliders and brooms will also be available to borrow at the rink, but if you don’t have your own curling shoes please bring clean indoor trainers for use on the ice.
